Characters
Vyscal, 19, also
known as Vincent, has blue-black long hair down to the back of his knees, which he keeps tied and braided (with help from
Tobi) down. He cuts to his shoulders after a time. He has deep, yet vibrant, green eyes and is rather tall, languidly thin
but strong. He is a good fighter though he tends to have more of a pacifistic attitude and tries to talk first; fight later.
He almost always wears his black pants, a black muscle shirt, with a black cloak over it, all having some sort of armor quality
to them. At first, he's rather out-going but after a time, and a few terrible incidents, about three, he becomes a bit wise,
quiet, and almost constantly solemn. His anger is rarely seen at that time and he rarely ever lashes out. He stopped aging
physically at 18.
Valerie, 19,
or Val, is Vyscal's twin sister, who does not have this strange anti-age gene, but does take the best care she can of Vyscal
until she disappears mysteriously. She and Vincent were orphaned at 2 and raised in the orphanage. Her hair and eyes are the
same as his, blue-black and green. She usually dresses in black or blues, and seems to have a crush on Rick even though he
is almost 6 years older. She rarely wears pants and sometimes wears shorts, but almost always has some sort of skirt that
either hits at her ankles, knees or thighs, some even below her ankles. She prefers these for some reason, probably because,
besides bodily differences, she and Vyscal look a lot alike.
Tobiyusuka, 22,
or Tobi, has deep dark blue hair that is cut short-like and usually in a spiky mess. His eyes are a deep crimson with slight
hints of violets in them. He is about two or three inches taller then Vyscal and he is just as good, if not a better fighter
then him. He wears a dark green tunic trimmed with gold, and pants to match, tied with a sash of light blue. He is thought
to be dead one day, which causes Vyscal to lose his outgoing nature. He takes care of Vyscal after meeting the boy out in
the streets, which he is forced to, once his sister goes missing. He meets him when he is 22 and Vyscal is 19, the ages they
are at the beginning of this story.
Richard, 25,
or Rick, has blonde hair to his mid-back that is constantly tied back, and slate grey eyes that seems to pierce through whomever’s
eyes he looks into, as if he can see their soul. He almost rarely wears long sleeved shirts, only muscle shirts, and a jacket
if necessary. His blue jeans are almost always cut in some place or another, or sliced up the sides. He is loud, obnoxious
and on occasion rather mean to Vyscal to 'toughen him up'. He never means any harm and can be a big teddy bear to the boy,
when he pushes too far, anyways. He dies at the same time as Tobi, but if he is really dead or not is unknown.
James, 20, or
Jimmy, has brown hair that's not very long, but very shaggy, and bright blue eyes that show a slight bit of innocents, but
a lot of mischief. He tends to lie and is the one to tell Vyscal the truth that Tobi isn't dead, though is unsure about Rick.
He keeps this truth from Vyscal for the five years he knows him, though, and on feeling guilty spills all. He tends to dress
in leather a lot and has an eyebrow loop, and a piercing in his navel, which is rarely seen anyways.
Tobugashi, 40,
or Tobu, is the man who had Tobi and Rick gone after, for Tobi is really a guy named Zechs and had changes done to become
who he is now. Rick helped Tobi get away. Tobu hires James to dress up and do plastic surgery on an already dead body, to
make him look exactly like Toby. Then he had him put Tobi in an asylum, making sure he was too drugged to be found sane. This
changes when Jimmy tells Vyscal the truth. When Tobu finds out about this, he has James killed. The killer is never mentioned
or made known. Tobu is also after Vyscal because of the strange fact that on turning 18, Vyscal stopped truly aging in looks.
Tobu wants to know how and why, to become, as Vyscal seems to be, immortal. He kidnaps Val at the beginning of the story,
which sets certain events into action.

The Story
Yo, Val, Wait up!" A blue-black-haired boy calls out, running towards a matching head of hair,
faced away, walking as slow and solemn as the dead. The boy calls out again, finally catching up, grabbing the form's arm,
turning it around. "Val, wha-- Ahh!" The face of the being was merely a vile, grinning skull. The jaw hung loosely
and the eye sockets; They were not empty. In the eye sockets, the eyeballs lay, turning slightly to follow any movement. The
only evidence that it was 'Val' was the fact that the eyes were the same vibrant, deep green as the boy's. "VALERIE!!" he
yells out...
The boy woke up, wide eyed, sweat pouring down his face and chest. His eyes darted back and forth out of fear. Once
he realized he was in bed, he slowed his breath, closing his eyes a moment before a shiver slid down his back. He climbed
out of the bed, tripping and stumbling a bit over the blankets that had tangled around his legs.
He needed to see his sister. He ran across the hallway to the room opposite his; Valerie's room. He rammed his knuckles
against the door, a slight pant still escaping him.
"Val, You decent?!" He asked after some time. He knocked again then opened the door. What he found, or rather, did
not find was his sister, still sleeping in her bed. What he did not see was her equally limber form shift in the pale warm
light of the hall. The only things the boy saw was a mess of blankets and a scatter of glass on the beige floor in front of
the window, where a few shards would mean scratched hands if touched. Valerie was no longer here, and that appeared obvious
to the boy.
He left the apartment and the building, after telling the owner he would be back for his things. When he was asked
why, he merely said that his sister had gone missing and he was unable to pay rent without a job.
